Happy Jummah, Are you a wealthy man?

Happy Jummah to everyone! I went to my 3 hours glucose test this morning just to be told that an appointment was needed. The mistake came from my dr's office since they told me I could go without an appointment. So, I fasted, got there first thing in the morning and lost half of my day just to realize I wouldn't be able to take the test today. Needless to say, I was pissed but inshaAllah, I scheduled one for Tuesday, so we will see how that goes.

Jummah Inspiration

A saint was praying silently. A wealthy merchant, observing the saint's devotion and sincerity, was deeply touched by him. The merchant offered the saint a bag of gold. "I know that you will use the money for Allah's sake. Please take it."

"Just a moment." The saint replied. "I'm not sure if it is lawful for me to take your money. Are you a wealthy man? Do you have more money at home?

"Oh yes. I have at least one thousand gold pieces at home," claimed the merchant proudly.

"Do you want a thousand gold pieces more? Asked the saint.

"Why not, of course yes. Every day I work hard to earn more money."

"And do you wish for yet a thousand gold pieces more beyond that?"

"Certainly. Every day I pray that I may earn more and more money."

The saint pushed the bag of gold back to the merchant. "I am sorry, but I cannot take your gold," he said. "A wealthy man cannot take money from a beggar."

"How can you call yourself a wealthy man and me a beggar?" the merchant spluttered.

The saint replied, "I am a wealthy man because I am content with whatever Allah (SWT) sends me. You are a beggar, because no matter how much you possess, you are always dissatisfied, and always begging Allah (SWT) for more."

So, reader, are you a beggar?

I really like the new layout and the read more smaller size of the posts habibty.

I know this is so hard right now. But, even if you do have gestational diabetes, you can still have a smooth rest of the pregnancy and delivery mashallah. I'm praying that the test is fine sweetie. Love you for the sake of Allah and beautiful post.

Hi honey bee :)!
To tell you the truth I don't know what gestational diabetes is.I've really never heard about it.I'll check it on the net. However,I'm really sorry that you have to make these tests.I know it must be stressing. Please keep us up to date with how your healt is.I so pray for you and oh I can't wait for little Hijabee to come to this world.Oh,you'll be so happy =)!
In the previous posts you wrote about how you gained weight. From my obseravation of some women that I know and that have children,I think that this thing about gaining more pounds during the pregnancy has a lot to do with your constitution. The ones that were more prone to gaining pounds before the pregnancy, got them very easily while pregnant. As for the skinny ones, the pregnancy wasn't such a bad experience in terms of gaining pounds. However,I've to say that the ones (indipendently if more on a heavy side or skinny) that practiced some sort of physical exercise were much better off. Thus your idea of taking some exercise is great :)!
Thank you for this story about the poor and the rich man.I enjoyed reading it so much, because it's something that many times occupies my mind.I'd like to have more and more money, but I also know that when I'm truly pleased with what Allah gave me,then I feel so happy and relaxed. We should strive for a balance between the two things :)!

Jasmina,
I actually got the results of my test back and they are normal which means I don't have gestational diabetes :) As for the weight gain, I guess every woman is different. Morning sickness plays a role as well in how much weight you're gonna gain since you don't feel like eating a lot when you're nauseous and so on. Exercising does help a lot though. The thing is, I always feel tired and Im lazy lol. Anyways, again, thanks for your input Jasmina :)
